So back to the chocolate shops.  I went into one that had a cookie buffet.  Seriously, there was about twenty different kinds.  So I bought a few.......I thought a treat for the week.  I could have one at night.  I almost fainted when they said twelve euros!  AI YI YI.  Highway robbery but what could I do?  I had to buy them.  Haven't tried one yet, but they better be worth it for that price!

Grand Place is beautiful. They say to see it at night, all lit up, but I was so tired after eight hours of touring on foot, I made my way home.  Maybe another night.  It's not far to walk - maybe twelve or fifteen minutes - but I'm not sure how I feel walking home in the dark.  We'll see.  Still lots of time to see that.

What else?  People are friendly.  I asked for directions so many times today and everyone helped me very kindly. :). I love hearing French everywhere.  But english hasn't been an issue.  Except the guy at the Information Centre.  LOL. WHICH IS KIND OF STRANGE, BUT IT'S OKAY.    I understand enough French to know gauche et droit.  I found my way just fine.   :)

The area of the B&B is fine.  The cab driver told me it wasn't safe, but I did my research.  Everyone on trip advisor said it was fine and it is.  It AI an immigrant area, but it's all families.  Nothing scary.  Since I live in the "HOOD" of Calgary.....it's not nearly as bad as that.  Hehe. Totally fine.  Although everyone warns you about pick pockets.  I stuffed money and my passport into my bra.  Hehe.  Ok, you probably didn't need to know that.  :P

Signing off for now, lovelies.  Tomorrow?  Well, tune in tomorrow to see what I did.  I'm going on a train trip.  To?  Well......it's a surprise.  Hehe.  For me to.  I know what train station I'm traveling to but that's it.  You can come on the adventure with me.  Hehe. Let's hope this posts.

Sounds like you had fun!

There sure are a lot of chocolate shops. I'll show you a couple of good ones!

Most students speak English. Other people...well, the older usually speak French. But I knew you would manage ;)

Can't wait to hear about tomorrow's adventure *giggles*

TEEEEE!!!! You made it!!! I knew you could do it, GF!

Side note: As I mentioned to you before you left - I thought I had signed up to be notified when you posted, but I never got any notices (should have known you wouldn't go that long without posting!), so that's when I mentioned it to you before. Anyway, I'm caught up again!

So, about the Belgian waffles: did they really originate there?? I'm waiting for the pic of those that you promised your young friend.

And just a word of good news: You can finally stop fretting over the packing!! Heehee. If you didn't pack it, you don't have it. Plain and simple. My hubby used to tell me when I fretted over packing, "They do have stores there, you know. We're not going to a deserted island." Now all you have to watch out for in the packing arena is that you don't buy too much to fit into your luggage to take home!! Good luck with that!

Waiting for the next episode of your saga! soso
