What's Brewin.  Well, at first glance of that coffee cup - or first read of the title - you might think this is a blog about good coffee.  Or maybe beer.  Brewin' Coffee.  Brewin' Beer.  Get it?   Ha.  Of course you do.  But it's not about either!  At least I don't think it will be.  That's not to say you won't find mention of a decent cup of coffee if I happen to find one during my travels.   This is, I think, at least for now, the beginning, going to be a travel blog.  Whoever thought I would write a travel blog?  Not me!  But here we are.  Why, you may ask?  Why a travel blog and why call it What's Brewin?  Well......

First, the What's Brewin part.  Its just a clever play on  words that's all.  Brewin's my name.  Last name, not first.  Obviously.  Ha.  My dream was always to have a coffee shop named What's Brewin, but since it's impractical and not very likely to happen at this point in my life.....the genius of the clever play on words needs to be
used somewhere, doesn't it? What's Brewin blog it is.  Can't let a good name go
to waste now, can I?

Now, the travel part.  Well, if you would have told me I would be taking a trip alone to Europe a year ago, I would not have believed you.  I would have laughed and shaken my head and said no way.  And yet, here we are.  Wow.  So, considering that I am travelling alone and people will be worried about me - at least I hope they will be and you know who you are - and, I think there will be friends who will be interested in what I'm getting up to over there in Europe......the idea of a blog just seemed so much easier than sending mass emails out to people every day.  A blog just seemed......funner.  And yes, that is a word, by the way.  A me word.  Funner.

So, here's my idea for going forward.  There are pages to this blog.  The first one, as you can see, is......What's Brewin in Belgium.  I'll add any posts about Belgium onto the page.  I hope it works.  Since I haven't really tested it out yet, I'm not sure it will.  But one can hope.  And I will tweak as we go along.   I don't travel a lot, but usually go somewhere once a year, so my thought was to add a page for each trip. Make sense?  So, for example, maybe next year I'll go to......Oh, New York, let's say.  (That's not a bad idea, actually, must look into that!).  So the page would say, What's Brewin.....In New York.   Get it?  Got it?  Good.  I so hope it makes sense. But for today, for February 2012, we'll start small.  With Belgium.  And see how it goes.

So, there you have it.  A travel blog called What's Brewin.  It could turn into anything.  It could be nothing and die out and fizzle.  I don't know.  But I'm going to give it a whirl.  Hope you come along.  And have fun.  And maybe smile at my crazy way of explaining things. And of course......you must leave a comment!  Especially while I'm travelling, so I can be close to my friends while I'm away and know they're thinking about me like I'm thinking about them.   Hmmmmmm, I hope this blog site lets you leave comments.  I should have checked that out!   Let's assume it does.  Okay?  Okay.

And this, I guess, is the end of Post One.  Check back now and again. I may have some random thoughts as I begin preparing for this trip.   I wonder if they should go on the Belgium page or here on the home page.  Hmmmmmmm.......

As you can see, I'm terrible at making up mind!   I'll leave you with that, my friends. I need to come up with a name for you all.   Brewin's........   Brewin's what?  Hmmmmm........  More things to think about!

PS:  You might wonder about the picture.  Well.......It's Carlos.  He's a handsome man.  And since I had this picture, and he was holding a coffee cup, and the blog is called What's Brewin.........I just had to use it now, didn't I?  Uh-huh, Uh-huh.

LOL T! You finally made it to the blog world! You go, girl! Ok, that's too many exclaimation marks for one comment...

I totally love this introductory post. So much better than my own :P Wish I could've sat down and compose of something better than that miserable one paragraph (I think it was one paragraph...).

Anyway, I'm so glad you've decided to make that trip. You have to make it, on my behalf since I don't get to travel much at all, not even once a year :) I will be waiting for updates on this site. No excuse now, Ms T, I am not going to be taking any nonsense from you like on your story thread on Il Divo Forum!

What's Brewin is cool, nice play with words. Names for you friends here? I'll think of something and let you know if I come up with anything ;)

Oh, and I like the font you use here. I haven't figured out how to change the font on my website. It's currently so boring :(

About Carlos...damn, how does he always look so good? And this coming from an Uber...are you happy I said that, T? LOL

Ok, I really need to get on with my housework. Remember I promised to do housework so that I may get my wish of having Il Divo around for another 20+ years? Yes, I need to get cracking!

Well done, my Brewer friend!

Hugs,
Judyxxx

T!!!!!!

This is looking great! It's very you. The whole thing I mean. Everything you wrote and Carlos of course! Well, Carlos is the main reason why you are taking this trip, isn't he? ;)

But I see I'm up for a challenge. A decent cup of coffee...
You don't know what you started, T! You're coming to Europe...Belgium even. And coffee in Europe is not just coffee! It's a whole culture! It's not just a cup of coffee over here. It's everything that goes with it. Cake, chocolates... Ok, I'll start investigating the coffee shops! And I mean the Belgian ones. Not the Dutch! Google that, T! LOL

I'm very excited about actually meeting you and I promise your friends and family that I will take good care of you!

Hugs,
Birgit

Hi B! Yes, I'm Uber. Nice to meet you here ;) I will never ditch Urs for Carlos or any other Divos, but I seem to be surrounded by Cuties and this T is really hardcore LOL I'm just glad that I'm not easily swayed :P

See, T, you're uniting the Divas with your blog. Say something else! LOL

Erma Bombeck said that “Making coffee has become the great compromise of the decade. It’s the only thing “real” men do that doesn’t seem to threaten their masculinity. To women, it’s on the same domestic entry level as putting the spring back into the toilet-tissue holder or taking a chicken out of the freezer to thaw.”

Looking forward to daily update...what did you eat, who did you talk to, what did you do, what did you buy....basically live vivaciously through you the whole time you are away. That makes it an incredibly cheap holiday for me but gives me something to save for. Can't wait to go!!

Hmm, I'm back again!! Can't help it, that piccie of Carlos is my undoing. Uh huh, I'm a die-hard Cuber, what can I say? Can I just say what is it about Carlos that makes him extra srumptious in Black & White piccies? That old-world charm and charisma he exudes?
But that's not to say Urs doesn't look good in B & W piccies too (have to say that to calm and soothe my inner Uber. And fellow Ubers like Judy. ;) ) Urs has an innate aristocratic charm and charisma. Great in B & W, coloured piccies. Maybe in oil paintings too. Who knows?
Okay, enough nonsense from me. Seeya T!! :)

I finally made it here, T!! I love that you've got a blog going, Now we can keep tabs on you and your travels. And I love that you decided to take the plunge and travel to Belgium. You know you would've regretted it ;) No freaking out! Just count to ten and keep calm... Not sure if it's the same in Belgium as in Holland (plus you drink coffee :p ) But when I asked for tea, I was surprised to get nothing but I cup of boiling water... apparently there are fruit sachets on the table and you choose what tea you want. I just thought my Dutch was bad :p Oh and I had to take my passport to go to the cinema as it meant crossing a border :/ Looking forward to reading more :p xx
